Okay that makes a lot of sense. Recently, I had broken a few rules whilst my Dom was away and when i brought it up to him he was upset, but didn't quite punish me like I thought he would and I honestly didn't know how to feel. I was initially disappointed because i felt like he didn't care that i broke a rule. After talking it out, I came to the realization that i NEED him to discipline me for even small things. It helps me feel taken care for and that he is watching out for me :)

Yep that makes a lot of sense to me, I work pretty similarly. Accountability feels like love to me. When we were new to domestic discipline we had some cases where he didn’t punish me for breaking rules and it caused us struggles too. It’s pretty rare, but there are some cases now where he will not punish me despite me breaking a rule, but only if he thinks the circumstances surrounding why hte rule was broken are really unique or significant. Not just to give me a second chance randomly or things like that. For example, I’m supposed to do the dishes every other day, and I’m only allowed to skip them if he gives me permission upfront (which he may do if we are not going to be home, or if I am not feeling well or something) or if I specifically request permission in advance and get a yes, but he only says yes if he thinks I have a good reason. But anyway, that’s the rule and that is supposed to be the only way to ‘get away with’ not doing the dishes, is having permission or getting permission. So ‘forgetting’ doesn’t count, for example. Or having a headache doesn’t count if I don’t specifically ask to skip the chore.

Butttt if something truly unexpected or extremely hard, or shocking happens that just kinda throws our lives upside down, then he will sometimes feel that punishment isn’t warranted and I can accept that much easier now because I know it happens rarely and only when he truly feels I did what I could given the circumstances.

Her Safe Place

As her Dom or Daddy you have many responsibilities. Not jobs. Not duties. Responsibilities. Among those which I consider most important is to always be her safe place.


Everyone is damaged or broken on some level. Everyone. A sub chooses her Dom for countless reasons. One of those is for you to be her rock, her sanity zone, her mentor, her safety net - her safe place.
